I have amazing news for you. Your gift will be DOUBLED to save twice as many animals like Piper!
Piper was found with her head completely stuck in a drainage pipe. Can you imagine her pain and terror? Her fur was caked in blood, and we don’t know how long she suffered like that before someone like you came along and found her.
That’s why this matching gift opportunity is so important.
Charles and Virginia Bagley created a designated fund at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta in order to benefit the Atlanta Humane Society in perpetuity. Their generosity is enabling a match up to $250,000 for every dollar you give by August 31, 2020.
This offer, and your generous response, couldn’t come at a more critical time. There are so many neglected and abandoned animals who need our care.
While at the same time, we are now also providing pets whose owners have fallen on hard times due to COVID-19 with food, veterinary services and other critical support so they can remain with the families who love them.
It is only through your heartfelt gifts that we can continue to save more lives like Piper’s through all this.
Because of your support, when our friends at the local county animal control where Piper was taken called and asked for our help to treat her injuries, we were able to say yes. We lovingly loaded Piper into our transport vehicle and brought her back to Atlanta.
Our Shelter Medicine Team began healing her torn and raw neck wounds.
We whispered to her and calmed her, as Piper was given pain relieving medication, critical first aid and lots of love.
Thanks to caring friends like you, Piper got a new chance in life!
Piper had a lot of healing to do from all the writhing she must have done trying to set herself free. She recovered slowly but surely in a loving foster home until she was well enough to be adopted by her own family who will cherish Piper and keep her safe.
These happy endings are impossible without you. Every day, we care for at-risk dogs and cats like Piper in search of a second chance at life.
As a no-kill organization, AHS cares for animals as long as it takes to find their forever family. It’s a lot of work, and it can be taxing on our resources, but the animals entrusted into our care deserve it.
On behalf of all the animals who your compassion touches, thank you. I urge you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to save more lives today.
Gratefully,
Cal Morgan
President and CEO
